144|365...Sometimes all we need is a little change in perspective. I shot this during my morning routine with the younger two boys. This year the boys are in 3 different schools. Currently our second gets on the bus at 6:30 followed by our oldest at 7:20 and then the younger two don’t catch the bus until 8:20. 143|365...We are so proud of Eli and his hard work for the 5th grade Spring Recital. He came home about a month ago and said he wanted to try out for the piano part for “Don’t Stop Believing.” We were surprised because he took piano lessons for a couple of years but it was over 3 years ago and he hasn’t played much since then. I loved that he was brave enough to want to try but I also LOVED the way Wes responded. He said “if you want to try this, I’ll help you learn it.” • So he and Wes worked on it for a couple of weeks and after trying out, Eli found out he got the part. At times it wasn’t easy, he was frustrated but Wes was patient and kept working on it. • Fast forward to this morning and Eli was so nervous. He had a school performance today and then a performance for the parents this evening. He was worried he’d mess up no matter how much we told him all he had to do was do his best. Believe me we knew he knew the song...if you’ve followed along on my stories he has practiced and practiced and then practiced some more. • I decided to cut up a notecard and write Philippians 4:13 on it so that he could put it in his pocket to pull out if he needed a reminder. I wasn’t sure how he would respond but he grabbed it and put it in his pocket. Tonight he did such an incredible job. Before bed he told me that he had a friend that felt nervous so he pulled out the notecard and shared it with his friend saying “I feel nervous too but this is helping me.”😭😭😭. He said “Mom, the kid wrote the verse on the bottom of his shoe so he’d have it with him too.” Let me be the first to say there are so many times I’ve felt like we have not parented well and then God does something like this❤️
142|365...Joshua was surprised today to find out he was awarded a scholarship through @paulrabil and the @prfund for his commitment, teamwork and perseverance in the extracurricular sport programs at his extraordinary school the @baltimorelabschool! • “The Paul Rabil Foundation is committed to helping children with learning differences by creating programs and partnerships through sport and scholarship.” • Here he is with Head of the Middle School at BLS after the presentation. So thankful God continues to help this boy shine🌟
